The Intelligence Commons is convened by Tom Tait, founder and director of the Inter Species Wisdom Project Inc. (ISWP) – a British Columbia Benefit Company based on the Sunshine Coast. A Benefit Company is bound by statute to its public-benefit purpose, not just its shareholders; that structure is deliberate.
ISWP builds institutions and infrastructure for a world where intelligence – human, artificial, and otherwise – has to share a commons:
- The Intelligence Commons and its Hearings – an independent public venue where contested claims are tested by adversarial protocol and resolved in a written, public finding. The working record lives at taitt.substack.com.
- The Hub – a submerged, community-owned compute platform for British Columbia, designed so the host First Nation co-owns the project and shares the revenue. Feasibility study in early scoping.
- The Kettle – ISWP’s charter artifact: a thought experiment in water-propellant nuclear thermal launch, standing for the proposition that abundance gated behind a monopoly isn’t abundance – it’s a toll road.

Now that you know, what will you do?
The wider Commons
The Hearings are the front door, but the Commons has more rooms: The Hub (community-owned, tidal-powered subsea compute – the proof), The Kettle (a ship that leaves Earth on steam – the dream), the Work Continuity Fund (if machines do the work, the obligations of labour follow – the policy), the Essays, The Square, and the House Band.
